About Middle School
Middle school marks the start of secondary education and spans four years, from 6ᵉ (6th grade) to 3ᵉ (9th grade).
Passionate teachers, each a specialist in their subject, deliver courses following the French national curriculum set by the Ministry of National Education.
Students explore a wide range of subjects to build the socle commun de connaissances, de compétences et de culture—the common foundation of knowledge, skills, and culture.
The final year of middle school is a key milestone: students take their first national exam, the DNB (Diplôme National du Brevet), and begin making informed choices about their future courses or career paths.
All middle school students have between 29 and 30 hours of compulsory lessons a week, which they can supplement with optional subjects.
