German Option
The German option comprises one group with a maximum of 25 children per level. German is the language of instruction for Sachkunde (General Knowledge), Arts, PE, and Music, whereas Mathematics is taught in French. Children learn to read and write both in French and German.
Only children who meet the required level of proficiency in German, oftentimes native speakers, can follow the German option. Provided that spaces are available.

Children from the German option join the German International Section in middle school.
Whole-Class Instruction in French
Unlike the French option, the class remains undivided. However, like in French option classes, children follow the French curriculum for cycles 2 and 3 (key stages).
Whole-Class Instruction in German
Children also follow the Hesse Kultusministerium curriculum in German and non-linguistic subjects. The Hesse educational materials used in all German schools are also used in the German option.
